SIX FEET APART: BLACK GIRL MAGIC “MASKED”

This mural-like compilation in Downtown Pittsburgh consists of 6 reworked natural hair portraits from the Black Girl Magic Series, giving these ladies masks to reflect the “new normal” posed by the COVID pandemic. The symbolic number 6 plays into the safety measures of staying 6 feet apART. Many of the mask designs are the inverse of the original BGM backgrounds (now solid colors) shown in the “Color Pop” version of the series.
