UPTOWN GRAND CENTRAL GATES REVIVAL: ACCRA RESTAURANT (EXPRESS)

Uptown Grand Central in East Harlem paired small businesses along 125th Street with artists to install art onto their security gates, adding color and inspiration to the historical stretch of Harlem businesses. In her second Ghana-inspired mural, Young incorporated Adinkra symbols aligned with the Ghanian restaurant’s values into the country’s flag, along with the capital’s monumental skyline.
